The initial charter of the Vincent Fund was to provide educational scholarships for those in need to St Jane DeChantal School in Bethesda.
St Jane’s was the same school that Vincent attended. The fund still plans to honor that original commitment on a
case-by-case basis. However, for the immediate future, the Vincent Fund will provide laptops to the Children’s Hospital
Cancer Ward each fall after the annual Golf Tournament fund raiser.
The laptops have several uses for the Cancer Ward. Everyday the Cancer Ward has cancer clinic. It is a very long day for the
children, siblings and parents. The laptops make the clinic a little easier as the kids can now watch a movie or play
educational games. The laptops are also loaded with Blue Tooth technology that enables the parents to e mail friends
and relatives. The laptops are also used for the patients that need to stay at the hospital in the Cancer Ward.
To date, the Vincent Fund has provided 5 laptops, 2 headphones per laptop and back packs to the Hematology-Oncology
Department at Children’s National Medical Center (Cancer Ward at Children’s Hospital in DC).
